Nancy
Robinett, the founder of
Anelanai, became involved in obedience in 1967. She was a very
shy but determined eleven year old who owned a very
aggressive Cocker Spaniel named Topper. At the age of twelve, Nancy became the
youngest person to win an all-breed High In Trial
with that same Cocker. Since that auspicious day, she has apprenticed under top
all-breed handlers and many leading dog trainers. Nancy has trained top
obedience and conformation dogs in breeds as varied as
Papillions to Akitas.
Mike Ferguson’s experience in conformation began as a child showing his
family’s Cocker Spaniels. He apprenticed under well-respected all-breed
handlers. Mike has extensive experience in conformation handling a wide
variety of breeds including Border Collies, Cocker Spaniels, Weimeraners, German Shepherds, Labradors,
Boxers, Dalmatians, Pugs, and Terriers. His introduction to dog obedience training
began with the purchase of the prize winning Cocker Spaniel, Ace, from his
future wife, Nancy (They actually met at a kennel!).
Married
for 30 years, Nancy and Mike have over 80 years combined experience in dog
training, handling and breeding. Together, they have shown dogs in more than
20 sates and in Canada. Their dogs have won over 300 titles, which include
literally hundreds of trophies and thousands of ribbons. They have bred
seeing eye, hearing ear, and narcotic dogs and have sold dogs to people in
most states as well as in Spain, Chile, India, Pakistan, England, Bermuda,
The Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Together they have made a very
successful training team. Through Anelanai training, they can
make you and your dog a successful training team too.
